I write down my useless thoughts here that nobody should probably ever see.
I call myself Oysterboy. I am female.

Write one leaf about a sound that annoys you.

Life goes on. It stops for no being on this Earth whatsoever. Especially not for Mae, who had spent the past previous weeks on her own ever since she found out she was forced to stay at home since her mother was going through bad illness and legal issues dealing with her home. Her mother had nobody else to depend on, which was kind of a burden for Mae since one, her mother was never really there for her in her childhood, and two, she was just about ready to move to a different state to live with her boyfriend of two and a half years, and the only person Mae felt truly happy around. In fact, she had just gotten back home from a month-long visit, and she was only supposed to come home to pack her belongings and go back. But, of course, her mother has to ruin everything.

It was one night, in particular, that Mae couldn’t get any sleep. This was the fifth week that she was caged in this now hellish building by herself and the dead slug she called her mother always lying on the couch and drinking. Mae sat on her bed, hunched over so that her elbows sank into her knees, and her face weighed heavily in her palms. By now, she could have been resting comfortably lying next to her boyfriend, talking softly about stories from the days of old or hopes and dreams they want to accomplish together. She missed him more than she ever thought possible. She missed his hearty laugh, the way he sometimes mumbled nonsense in his sleep, and when he was caught humming her favorite songs.

In the end, it was really the silence that drove her mad. The lack of the sound in her life that she despised so much.
